If NIL had been a around on Nov. 24, 2012, Clemson's Andre Ellington could have signed a deal with Tylenol.
The future NFL running back thought he was headed for a few extra yards but Gamecock safety D.J. Swearinger sent Ellington backwards with a jaw-dropping hit that was talked about for days.
Swearinger knelt down and taunted Ellington after the play. He got flagged but he didn't seem to care and it didn't matter as USC took down Clemson 27-17 in Death Valley.
The 2012 rivalry game was part of a Gamecocks five-year winning streak against Clemson.
Swearinger, a Greewood, SC native, continued to put a hurting on offenses during his eight-year career in the NFL .
