If you happened to be driving on Rosewood Drive shortly before midnight on Sept. 2, 2000, you probably would have done a double take. The bright yellow field goal posts from Williams Brice were traveling down the road, headed towards Harden St.
Not by car.
By hand.
Dozens of excited USC students who helped pull down the posts, mounted them on their shoulders and carried them to Five Points in celebration.
The victory over New Mexico State that night snapped a 21-game losing streak and ushered in a new era under Lou Holtz.
